Peter Wezenbeek provides lectures on the specialized area of Motorsport Control Systems in Formula 1 for the Controls Systems Master Degree Course at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Peter explains the various control systems used on an F1 car such as Launch Control, Traction Control and Gearshift Control. He also talks about a typical race team configuration, the role of engineers and the responsibilities within the team based on his own experience as Chassis Control Systems Engineer for Fernando Alonso in the championship winning Renault Formula 1 team in the 2006 season.
